“In July 2014 I contacted Selyan’s Flooring and Interiors to install an engineered hardwood floor throughout my condominium, approximately 1000 sq. ft. Raymond Butler was the sales agent for Selyan’s and I was extremely pleased with the way he handled the whole process from initial contact to follow-ups on completion. His team of installers were very professional and completed the work on time, and at the end of each day they would clean the work areas, since I was living in the space during the installation. In fact, the building superintendent even commented on the fact that the installers were so respectful of the other residents by ensuring the common areas were not used or left dirty. Their dedication, care and expertise is really reflected in the finished product. Ray was there every step of the way checking on progress and ensuring I was completely satisfied with the work.

“We dealt with Raymond Butler of Selyan’s Flooring when we had wool carpeting installed in our condominium in January of this year. We met Raymond when we visited the store and he gave us helpful advice on different floor coverings, leading to our choice of New Zealand wool carpet. He came and measured our unit and answered our questions about installation. He arranged for the carpet to be installed at a date that suited us. We were pleased that he closely supervised the installation. We were happy with the quality of the installation, the quality of the carpet, and the promptness with which Raymond answered all our questions and dealt with our concerns. We had a particular concern with the potential wear of the carpet around a desk. Raymond came up with an excellent solution to deal with our concern. Very Pleased with Selyan’s and Raymond
“We were so impressed with Raymond that we thought we should write something he could show future customers. We first met Raymond following a disastrous flood in our condo at Finch and Yonge. Our wood flooring had to be replaced. He showed great patience and compassion as we endlessly searched for the “ideal” engineered hardwood. We are both well into our senior years so we much appreciated how he listened to our ideas and offered suggestions on tile vs. wood on our kitchen floor and wood vs. carpet in our bedroom. Our final selection of flooring occurred only after several meetings at Selyan’s showroom and our home where wood samples were considered. We were impressed with his knowledge of the products and his insights into what would be right for our home. At no time did we feel pressured to make decisions quickly. When we were close to deciding between 3” and 5” we had a humorous discussion about young people selecting wider floors and seniors selecting narrow – feeling young at heart we chose 5” flooring. During the project, Raymond visited regularly. The floor was expertly installed by very competent professionals. When we decided to replace our carpet flooring at our downtown waterfront condo (our cottage), we again contacted Raymond. Although dealing with the underpad requirement of this condo required his skill and diplomacy the installation was done with the same expertise as the previous project. Raymond visited while the work was ongoing to ensure satisfaction. We were very pleased with Selyan’s and Raymond. Their products and installation we certainly can recommend to you.”

Excellent Product Selection and Pricing
“We selected Selyan’s Flooring as our supplier of engineered wood floors for our home because their selection of quality products and pricing was excellent. Raymond Butler, the sales person we dealt with at the Avenue Road location, was friendly and helpful and answered all of our questions about the various products. Once we placed the order, he was always prompt in getting back to us and came out to visit the site in Innisfil to measure and make sure that the product we selected was appropriate. The installers he sent to us were very good; they installed everything well and took care to protect the floors. They also came back right away to correct any minor problems we experienced after installation. The only problem we encountered was due to an oversight in the capping material ordered for our circular staircase. Due to the curve of the staircase, it required a custom template to fit the curve; which was not anticipated in the estimate. As a result, we had to wait for custom templates to be produced and spent a bit more than the original quote. That being said, would still work again with Raymond and highly recommend him and Selyan’s Flooring to others.”

Working with a Local Company Paid Off
“When it came to redo the flooring on our entire main level, we wanted to work with a local company rather than a faceless “big-box” company. We went to Selyan’s and we felt good about that decision right from the start. First, we spoke with Annie who guided us towards our options with hardwood flooring. Then flooring expert extraordinaire Raymond took over and came up with a plan to fit our budget and design style. We had to rip out the existing flooring and subfloor and then Selyan’s install team came in to do their magic. We were familiar with their attention to detail, since they have done carpeting for us in the past as well. The install went great and on-time and the little touches were evident relating to fit the finishing. But there was a problem, and this is where having made the decision to work with a local company paid off. The floors were squeaking beyond what would be acceptable, and so we called Raymond. He immediately came over and agreed – something wasn’t right. He summoned both the head of installation and the flooring manufacturing rep and sent an unused section of flooring back to the manufacturer in BC for testing. In the end, that batch of product was found to not meet the Selyan’s standard. So back came the installers who removed the just-installed floor and reinstalled the new product. Raymond was awesome overseeing this nerve-wracking experience, and the installers were great (again) too. As they say, the proof is in the pudding. Not only was Selyan’s helpful during the whole ordeal, with Raymond as our go-to guy, but also there was absolutely no charge to us! That’s what we call standing behind your product! We love our new floor and will be returning to Selyan’s for future projects without hesitation. Thanks Raymond and Selyan’s.”

Excellent Service by Selyan’s Permanent Crew of Installers
“Dear Ray, it has been already a couple months since your company installed laminate floors in almost my entire apartment; it just dawned on me that I should express once more my thanks for the excellent service I received from your company and especially from you personally, as well as the crew of installers. Prior to contracting Selyan’s, we researched a few companies regarding the products and possible installation but we were surprised how many operators were unprofessional and obviously untrustworthy. This is a service which involves outlay of a few thousand dollars! Finally we went to Selyan’s who promptly put their coat on and went with us to our apartment and afterwards everything went absolutely straightforward ahead. No haggling about the price / no “special deals” – just a fair price / very few items on the estimate, very little “legal jargon” with special clauses for exceptions, “fine print” etc. Just a responsibility for a quality delivery of the service and price of the brand name product. Raymond explained to us the advantages of each product and how well it would fit our needs. Selyan’s was flexible with a start date and everything went absolutely smoothly. What I really appreciated was the permanent crew of installers (unlike many other companies we contacted before, which offered just taking money, deliver the material and after sending some installers). During the entire period of installation Raymond would drop in everyday, talk to the crew, evaluate the progress and so it went on until everything was finished. I would like to stress that before the installation started, the entire process of installation was planned so that it was minimally disrupting for our stay in the apartment – and it was. The installation went on fast and efficient and after it was completed, Raymond cared about any minor flaw which subsequently might have happened. Immediately an installer came and fixed it. So, many thanks and when we need something for our floor we know where to find Raymond.”
